The Fuerte avocado is a classic, high-quality cultivar of Persea americana prized for its exceptional eating quality, creamy texture, and distinctive nutty flavor. Originally grown in Atlixco, Mexico, it was introduced commercially to the United States in 1911 and became the dominant commercial variety until supplanted by Hass.

Shape & size: Pear-like, medium-sized fruits (≈ 170–450 g / 6–16 oz).

Skin: Smooth, medium-thin, green skin that stays green even when fully ripe and peels easily from the flesh.

Flesh & flavour: Pale green, creamy, rich and buttery flesh with a distinctive nutty (hazelnut) flavour and minimal fiber.

Culinary use: Versatile for guacamole, salads, toasts, sandwiches, and fresh eating due to its smooth texture and rich taste.
