🌱 Medjool Date Palm Seedling
750ML Tall Square Pot
Appearance: When germinated, the Medjool date seedling emerges as a single, thin green shoot that grows from the seed. The seedling develops slowly and begins to form a slender, grass-like leaf structure.
Growth: Seedlings can take 2–3 years before developing the recognizable trunk structure of a palm. They require warmth, sunlight, and well-draining soil.
Root System: The roots are fibrous and begin growing down into the soil quickly to stabilize the plant.
Important Note: Medjool date palms are usually propagated by offshoots or tissue culture, not from seed, because seedlings do not guarantee the same fruit quality and often produce male (non-fruiting) trees.
🌴 Medjool Date Palm Tree
Size: Mature trees can reach 15–25 meters (50–80 feet) tall.
Trunk: Thick, textured with a diamond-shaped pattern from old leaf bases. It becomes more columnar with age.
Leaves: Long, feathery pinnate leaves, up to 4–6 meters (13–20 feet) long, with sharp leaflets and a silvery-green to bluish tint.
Lifespan: Can live and bear fruit for over 100 years.
Climate: Thrives in hot, arid environments with long, dry summers and mild winters.
Sex: Date palms are dioecious, meaning male and female flowers grow on separate trees. Only female trees produce fruit, and they require pollination from a male.
